Quảng Ngãi has advantages for industrial development, coastal tourism and a rich cultural heritage, supported by a strategic location along the central coast. As the region’s economic growth continues, demand is rising for modern, sustainable living spaces that improve residents’ day-to-day experience.
In this context, Coastal Quảng Ngãi has drawn attention for applying international standards in planning, design and landscaping, while localizing the approach to match the real needs of residents.
Coastal Quảng Ngãi covers nearly 94 hectares and is located in Tu Nghĩa commune, Quảng Ngãi province. The project brings together international partners including Sweco, Giò Forma, SHMA and 100 Architects, who have contributed to urban projects, cities and public spaces worldwide.
Coastal Quảng Ngãi is described as the largest ongoing urban development project in Quảng Ngãi.
Coastal Quảng Ngãi is comprehensively planned by Sweco, a European architecture, engineering and urban development consultancy with more than 130 years of experience. Sweco is noted globally for sustainable urban development projects such as UN17 Village, Seestadt Aspern in Vienna and Stockholm Royal Seaport.
With Coastal Quảng Ngãi, Sweco’s involvement is presented as creating a living ecosystem designed from the outset, linking transportation, public spaces, social utilities, the ecological environment and quality of life into a unified whole.
While Sweco focuses on planning, Giò Forma is positioned as delivering emblematic spaces with a strong emotional connection to the community. In the eco-city Coastal Quảng Ngãi, Giò Forma designed a community exhibition center that serves as the cultural heart of the urban area.
The center is described as hosting community events, creative exchanges, education activities and helping “diffuse a living spirit.” Giò Forma is cited as an international design studio known for works including “Tree of Life” at Expo Milan 2015 and Maraya Concert Hall in Saudi Arabia.
SHMA is described as integrating nature, health and urban life. In Coastal Quảng Ngãi, SHMA’s role is presented as moving beyond the concept of a green city toward a wellness-oriented community model.
According to the project description, every landscape, open space, water feature, mobility area and resting stop is designed to encourage residents to spend time outdoors, connect with nature, exercise more and restore balance after work. Nature is positioned as a core element of daily living, intended to support energy renewal, mental refreshment and long-term health benefits.
From a sustainability perspective, the project emphasizes children as central to development. A playground area of 6,800 square meters is developed by 100 Architects, an international architectural and urban design studio based in Shanghai.
The playground is described as encouraging movement, exploration, interaction and imaginative play through natural activity. The design is also said to address other age groups, from teens to adults, with dedicated spaces for movement, relaxation, connection and energy renewal.
The convergence of Sweco, Giò Forma, SHMA and 100 Architects is presented as creating a multi-layer ecosystem for Coastal Quảng Ngãi, spanning planning, architecture, landscape, community spaces and living experiences across generations.
The project states that it is designed to raise living standards for about 4,000 residents in Quảng Ngãi. With a long-term vision and resources supported by global partners, Coastal Quảng Ngãi is positioned as a new living symbol for the central region, aiming to create a more sustainable living standard along the coast of Quảng Ngãi.

Premium gym chains are entering a “golden era” that is ending or already in decline, as rising operating costs collide with shifting consumer preferences toward more flexible, community-based ways to exercise. Long-term memberships are shrinking, margins are pressured by higher rents and facility expenses, and competition from smaller, more personalized…
