Dong Nai Province is moving into the final stretch to meet the conditions required to begin construction of two provincial roads, DT 773 and DT 770B, which are designed to connect Long Thành International Airport with major economic zones in the southern region.
The two provincial roads, DT 773 and DT 770B, have a combined investment of over 12 trillion VND and are expected to play a key role in the transport network linking the airport with nearby areas, alongside Routes 25B, 25C, and Belt Road 4 in Ho Chi Minh City.
DT 773 is about 40 km long and planned with 6–8 lanes. The route connects from National Highway 1 to Beltway 4 of Ho Chi Minh City.
DT 770B runs for over 42 km with 4–8 lanes. It connects from the DT 763 area to National Highway 51, forming a continuous transport axis in the region.
Despite being identified as key projects, implementation progress is heavily dependent on land clearance.
According to the latest update, DT 770B has basically completed land clearance and compensation counting, while DT 773 has reached only about 15%, with significant differences between the two projects. This gap requires accelerated, coordinated progress to keep the overall schedule on track.
The Dong Nai Province People’s Committee has directed relevant localities to speed up compensation, support, and resettlement, treating this as a priority for 2026. Officials stressed that determining land origin, preparing compensation plans, and approving land prices must be completed quickly and accurately to avoid prolonged delays.
They also noted that land boundary issues and overlapping records must be resolved decisively during implementation.
At a working session with related departments and field inspections on April 20–21, 2026, Chairman Nguyen Van Ut urged agencies not to wait until all procedures are completed. Instead, multiple tasks should be carried out in parallel, including finalizing legal documents, technical design, and selecting contractors, with the aim of shortening investment preparation time and enabling the projects to start on schedule.
The province set targets for land clearance on key routes, including DT 773 and DT 770B: about 70% by June 2026, 90% by September 2026, and full completion within 2026.
For Routes 25B and 25C, leaders also require completion by June 2026, describing it as both a provincial target and a commitment to the Government.
The Dong Nai Provincial Project Management Board for Construction Investment (the sponsor) is coordinating with local authorities to accelerate procedures. Some packages of DT 773 have completed contractor selection, while DT 770B is progressing with technical design. Preparatory steps are being carried out in parallel with site clearance to ensure the ground land is ready for construction.
However, land clearance continues to be the biggest bottleneck. Some areas have complex land records, and determining land origin and compensation prices takes time. In addition, public consensus in certain areas is not high, which is also affecting progress.
Accelerating DT 773 and DT 770B is expected to support the progress of each individual project and is important for the broader infrastructure system connecting the airport. Once completed, the roads will form a coordinated transport network linking the airport with National Highway 1, National Highway 51, and beltways, supporting socio-economic development in the region.
