Authorities in Dong Thap Province are currently verifying and tracing the individual behind a Facebook page impersonating the Dong Thap Provincial Police Traffic Police Department (CSGT). On April 3-4, the Dong Thap Province Police's Traffic Police Department (CSGT) issued an urgent warning about the appearance of a fake social media page impersonating the unit for malicious purposes. Notably, the fake page copies the entire name, photos, logo and the layout of the real page (which has been verified) to build trust and mislead the public when visiting social networks. The counterfeit page often posts and shares false information that has not been verified. These contents show signs of fabrication and distortion of traffic safety and order to steer public opinion, attract engagement or serve malicious purposes, seriously affecting the reputation of the police force. The Dong Thap Provincial Police CSGT asserts that the aforementioned Facebook page is completely fake. All content posted is unofficial and does not represent the views or information from the authorities. To protect personal rights and maintain security and order, the police urge citizens to carefully check sources of information and verify before receiving information. Only follow and share content from official channels of the police. Do not share or spread unverified content that causes public alarm. Currently, the CSGT Department is coordinating with other units within Dong Thap Province Police to identify and trace the individuals behind this fake page.
