Traveloka, Southeast Asia’s travel platform, says new data shows “Double Days” are increasingly influencing how regional travelers plan and book travel services. The trend is being driven by the popularity of e-commerce campaigns such as 11.11 and is now expanding into monthly Double Days, reflecting a shift in consumer behavior toward treating travel as a timing- and value-based shopping decision.
Traveloka said the momentum accelerated sharply in late 2025, as Vietnamese consumers visited the platform consistently during Double Days. This contributed to a 49% increase in site traffic.
To capture the shift, Traveloka optimized its promotional calendar for 2026 by increasing the frequency of offers from Q1. The company reported that users responded quickly, with transaction values in Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam recording growth of up to 70%.
Alex Jung, Marketing Director of Traveloka, said: “Our users show they plan their trips around the key dates, and we want to accompany them at those moments. Adjusting the marketing calendar to align with this behavior not only meets consumer expectations but also delivers real value to them.”
Traveloka also highlighted patterns in Vietnamese travelers’ behavior. It said post-Tet demand for East Asia destinations—Japan, Korea, China, and Taiwan—remains strong. At the same time, domestic coastal luxury travel is surging.
Da Nang, Nha Trang, and Phu Quoc have posted up to 200% growth versus a year earlier, which Traveloka linked in part to the Double Days trend enabling enhanced lodging experiences.
Following the reported growth, Traveloka will launch the 5.5 EPIC Sale from May 4, 2026 to May 8, 2026. The company described the event as the “golden hours” for summer peak travel and said offers will include deep discounts of up to 50% on hotels and activities.
Traveloka said concentrating promotions around 5.5 is intended to shorten the consumer decision process for peak-summer itineraries, including domestic beach trips and longer trips to the United States and Australia. The company also said users can access promo codes all day, including product-level deals, hotel + activity bundles, group booking offers, and co-branded promotions with banks and partners.
Traveloka concluded that “Double Days” are no longer just a consumer expectation, but a behavioral trend shaping the image of the “sophisticated Vietnamese traveler.” It added that as the region continues to redefine promotion calendars across Asia-Pacific, it is reinforcing its position as a platform for travelers who view timing as a key determinant in travel decisions.
Premium gym chains are entering a “golden era” that is ending or already in decline, as rising operating costs collide with shifting consumer preferences toward more flexible, community-based ways to exercise. Long-term memberships are shrinking, margins are pressured by higher rents and facility expenses, and competition from smaller, more personalized…
