American Bitcoin (Nasdaq: ABTC) reported a treasury of more than 7,300 BTC at the close of the first quarter of 2026, alongside an expanded mining footprint and lower operating costs, as co-founder Eric Trump outlined an institutional Bitcoin accumulation strategy in statements issued May 12, 2026.
Eric Trump described ABTC’s approach as centered on maximizing treasury reserves while reducing mining costs below the market average. He said the industry’s competitive landscape is shaped by two factors: the race for total asset volume and efficiency in acquisition cost.
Trump also framed ABTC’s strategy as a reserve-focused model with stricter retention policies, positioning the company—listed on the Nasdaq since late 2025—as a potential dominant player among corporate Bitcoin holders.
In an interview with David Lin, Trump acknowledged Michael Saylor’s role in building corporate reserves, but said ABTC’s method differs through a stricter retention policy.
According to company data, the first-quarter 2026 strategy focused exclusively on increasing the number of “satoshis per share.” The firm projected that only an extreme severity scenario would force liquidation of its reserves.
ABTC reported operational cost improvements tied to energy efficiency. Trump stated that the company’s infrastructure enables mining at a cost of approximately “50 cents on the dollar” compared with market price.
At the close of March 2026, American Bitcoin controlled more than 90,000 mining rigs after integrating next-generation units. The fleet provides an estimated processing capacity of 28 EH/s (exahashes per second).
The company, which marked eight months of public operation in May 2026, increased its holdings by 30% quarter-over-quarter. In the first three months of 2026, production reached 817 BTC, the highest level since its founding in 2025.
SEC figures cited in the report show ABTC’s mining cost fell from $46,900 in the fourth quarter of 2025 to $36,200 in the recent period.
Management presented the business model as attractive to market participants where profitability is not measured by asset sales, but by net accumulation. Trump’s vision emphasized that consolidating proprietary infrastructure could be a way to challenge the dominance of larger investment funds.
For the next operational cycle, ABTC plans to complete full energization of its Drumheller data center, which the company said could further increase its share of the global Bitcoin network. The company indicated that tracking these operational metrics is a key indicator for institutional investors in the digital asset sector.
Premium gym chains are entering a “golden era” that is ending or already in decline, as rising operating costs collide with shifting consumer preferences toward more flexible, community-based ways to exercise. Long-term memberships are shrinking, margins are pressured by higher rents and facility expenses, and competition from smaller, more personalized…
