Hanoi Police are expected to hold a press information conference next week on the situation and results of ensuring security and order in the first quarter of 2026. The police are expected to report on five typical cases, including one related to Bao Tin Minh Chau.
First, Hanoi Police will provide information related to violations of accounting regulations at Bao Tin Minh Chau Co., Ltd. (Hai Ba Trung Ward, Hanoi). On March 25, authorities conducted simultaneous visits to three Bao Tin Minh Chau locations, including two in Hai Ba Trung Ward. After several hours of work, authorities removed many boxes of documents from the company’s stores.
Second, the police will address violations of food safety regulations, abuse of power, misappropriation of assets, and falsification in professional work in Hanoi and other localities. The case is linked to the slaughtering and consumption of nearly 300 tons of African swine fever-infected pigs, which drew public outcry recently.
Third, Hanoi Police will report on a case involving possession of illegal drugs, organization of illegal drug use, bribery, receiving bribes, mediating bribes, abuse of position while performing official duties, forging case records, and gambling. The case was detected on 07/06/2025 at the Central Institute of Forensic Psychiatry and related units.
Fourth, the police will inform about crimes committed by individuals using the facade of mental health treatment at the Central Institute of Forensic Psychiatry. The reported offenses include purchasing, storing, and using illegal drugs, as well as illegally storing military weapons.
Fifth, Hanoi Police will provide information on methods used by foreign nationals in Hanoi to defraud, seize assets, and organize cross-border gambling operations.
