On the morning of April 4, 2026, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired the regular Government meeting for March 2026 and an online Government conference with local authorities. The session was also the final meeting of the XV Government before the National Assembly’s first session, expected to elect a new Government in the coming days.
Concluding the remarks, the Prime Minister expressed heartfelt thanks and gratitude to leaders and agencies in the political system, the entire people, the business community, and international friends and partners.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh noted that five years ago, on April 5, 2021, he was elected Prime Minister, and on April 6, 2021, the Government was formed.
According to the Prime Minister, the past five years included both opportunities and favorable conditions, as well as difficulties, with challenges outweighing opportunities. Despite having to manage many “headwinds,” he said the country’s economy and society have safely reached port, essentially achieving the goals set by the Central authorities, the National Assembly, and relevant agencies.
The Prime Minister attributed these outcomes to the efforts of ministries, sectors, localities, agencies, and units, as well as domestic and foreign enterprises. He also highlighted the role of Cabinet members and the supportive leadership of the Party’s Central Committee, the Politburo, the Secretariat, and top leaders, including the General Secretary and leaders of the Party, the State, and the Fatherland Front.
On behalf of the Government, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed deepest gratitude to the Party’s Central Committee, the Politburo, the Secretariat, the General Secretary, top leaders, the Party, the State, and the Fatherland Front, as well as to agencies, units, localities, and the entire people. He also thanked journalists for standing by the Government during difficult times.
He extended thanks to the domestic and international business community for accompanying the Government in recent years, and to friends and international partners for effective assistance in vaccines and fuels.
The Prime Minister also sent best wishes to all people nationwide who shared, helped, and supported the Government during the five years and throughout the Government’s development over more than 80 years since its founding.
In addition, he thanked five agencies that were previously under the Government but have since become part of the Central Committee apparatus, and said he believes they will continue fulfilling their duties to serve the Party, the State, and the people.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said he believes and hopes the new Government in the next term will continue to inherit, uphold, and promote the good traditions of the Government across different eras. He called for addressing limitations and inadequacies to successfully complete tasks assigned by the Party, the State, and the people, with the spirit that results in the next year and the next term must be higher than those of the previous year and previous term.
