LG Electronics (LG) unveiled a range of technologies developed for the Asia-Pacific market at LG InnoFest APAC 2026, held from 7 to 10 April in Busan, South Korea.
Positioned under the theme “Innovation, Forward Together,” the event showcased LG’s “K-tech” approach, highlighting empathetic AI designed to translate local market understanding into practical home and appliance solutions.
The event’s product focus includes the next-generation LG WashTower™ washing-drying tower. Alongside existing 24-inch and 27-inch models, LG introduced a new 25-inch version designed for compact Asian apartments, aiming to optimize space while maintaining strong washing and drying performance.
LG also upgraded its top-load washing machines with direct-drive technology integrated with Empathetic AI 2nd generation (LG AI DD™ 2.0). The system automatically optimizes drum motion based on fabric type and soil level. For faster cleaning, TurboWash™ 3D fast wash supports deep cleaning in 30 minutes. LG further added ezDispense™, which automatically distributes detergent and rinse water according to the actual load to save time and reduce chemical waste.
In the heat-pump washer-dryer category, LG introduced the LG WashCombo™. The “All-in-One” design combines washing and drying in a single cycle, supported by Inverter HeatPump™ for improved energy efficiency.
For commercial washing, LG presented high-performance solutions with flexible design, industrial durability, and smart technology. The lineup builds on LG’s washing-drying leadership and includes customizable deep washing programs, open API connectivity, and a maintenance-optimized design.
LG said it plans to expand soon into the market for HeatPump Combo commercial washers and dryers, citing positive feedback in Korea.
In the kitchen segment, LG emphasized space-optimized appliances for urban living. The new Fit & Max refrigerator line uses Zero Clearance hinges, enabling built-in cabinetry with doors that can fully open while saving space and maximizing usable capacity.
LG also developed Ice Solution, an ice-making system with options tailored to different ice preferences across Asia. Users can choose Craft Ice (slow-melting round ice), ice cubes, crushed ice, or Mini Craft, a smaller version of Craft Ice.
For dishwashing, LG introduced a new dishwasher line designed to complete a wash and dry cycle in one hour. QuadWash™ Pro combines high-pressure jets and micro-bubbles to clean from multiple directions, while Dynamic Heat Dry+ improves drying efficiency through moisture absorption and warm air flow. LG said its flagship products achieve energy efficiency class A in both premium and mainstream segments.
For Southeast Asia, LG introduced a built-in kitchen appliance collection including ovens, stoves, and hoods, targeting both B2B and B2C customers.
Among the lineup, the Camera Oven includes an internal camera that can identify ingredients, suggest cooking modes, and monitor doneness.
At InnoFest 2026, LG unveiled AI Home, a smart home ecosystem where devices operate in sync through the ThinQ ON control center. The system is designed to reduce household chores and personalize the living experience based on each member’s habits.
As part of its roadmap, ThinQ ON is currently rolling out in Australia and Thailand before expanding across the region.
The expo also featured three spaces modeled after common housing styles across Asia, drawing inspiration from familiar contexts in Korean film to help visitors visualize real-life product applications.
LG also highlighted the LG Subscribe model, a flexible subscription service for household appliances that includes professional care packages. LG said the model is being developed in fast-urbanizing markets including Malaysia, Taiwan, and Vietnam.
Mr. Jaeseung Kim, CEO for Asia Pacific at LG Electronics, said: “Asia is one of the most dynamic markets and plays a crucial role for LG. InnoFest 2026 is a great opportunity for us to share our direction toward a new era of smart living. We are committed to continuing to develop empathetic AI solutions, ensuring technology serves life in a natural and thoughtful way.”
