Mark Cuban praised on Wednesday a new documentary that claims to shed light on the real identity of Bitcoin’s mysterious creator, Satoshi Nakamoto.
In an X post, Cuban said the film is “really good” and “entertaining,” adding that it is the kind that will get people to think.
Titled “Finding Satoshi: The Search Ends Here,” the documentary is presented as an “evidence-based investigation” into one of the biggest mysteries in the cryptocurrency world.
The documentary was released exclusively at FindingSatoshi.com on Wednesday. It will not be available on streaming platforms, and there will be no theatrical release.
The documentary arrives amid continued mainstream media efforts to unmask Nakamoto’s identity.
One recent example is HBO’s 2024 documentary “Money Electric: The Bitcoin Mystery,” which identified Bitcoin Core engineer Peter Todd as Nakamoto. Todd immediately denied the claim.
Earlier this month, an investigation by The New York Times suggested Blockstream CEO Adam Back could be Nakamoto, but Back denied it outright.
Nakamoto is estimated to hold around 1.1 million BTC, valued at approximately $85.47 billion at current market prices. The wallets associated with Nakamoto have not shown outgoing transactions, though they have received small amounts of Bitcoin at times.
At the time of writing, BTC was trading at $77,917.53, up 0.53% over the last 24 hours, according to data from Benzinga Pro.
