On April 8 in Ho Chi Minh City, the Department of Science and Technology, the Department of Health, the Public Health Association and other units organized the Smart Healthcare 2026 - Startup Connection Day exhibition. The event served as both a showcase and a platform connecting health policy, professional expertise and the innovation ecosystem, with more than 50 exhibition booths presenting nearly 70 technologies, devices and health-tech solutions from domestic companies and startups.
Against the backdrop of rising healthcare costs and urban overcrowding, the healthcare delivery model is shifting from hospital-based treatment toward proactive prevention and early health management.
Speaking at the event, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Hue, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology, said that in response to the “National Health Day,” the health sector is moving toward a prevention-oriented model centered on continuous health management. She noted that science, technology and innovation are key enablers for people to access quality health services, and that the exhibition is also a venue where technology solutions can be tested in practice and connected to everyday life.
The exhibition featured digital technology, AI and telehealth solutions, including AI platforms, remote health monitoring, care coordination and online medical consultations. Companies such as HOPT Co., Ltd, Kinis AI Vietnam and Medisetter Vietnam introduced products including the AI.DFS solution suite, an AI-integrated mobility-health ecosystem, and a platform connecting doctors and professional communities. Healthcare management solutions and hospital digital transformation initiatives were also presented.
Beyond the booths, the event included seminars and ecosystem connection activities. Sessions focused on building preventive healthcare platforms and community health, while an afternoon program covered personal health record solutions, AI infrastructure and telehealth.
The Healthcare Founder Meetup brought together startups to present their solutions to experts, hospitals and investors, aiming to identify collaboration opportunities. It also provided a space for projects participating in the city’s incubation program to validate their value and connect with real-world needs in the health sector.
Smart Healthcare 2026 highlighted the ongoing transformation of Ho Chi Minh City’s healthcare system toward proactive, data-driven care. Organizers said the event is expected to build new connections and help replicate proactive healthcare models for the community, while supporting cooperation and sustainable development of the healthcare sector.
