National Assembly chairman appoints party secretaries for three parliamentary agencies

On the afternoon of April 10, at the National Assembly House, Politburo member and Secretary of the Parliament’s Party Committee, Tran Thanh Mẫn, presided over a conference to announce and hand down decisions appointing secretaries of the Party Committees at three Parliament agencies.

Appointments announced

At the conference, Chairman Tran Thanh Mẫn handed over decisions from the Standing Board of the Parliament’s Party Committee appointing:

• Phan Chí Hiếu as Secretary of the Party Committee of the Legal and Judicial Committee.
• Le Thị Nga as Secretary of the Party Committee of the People’s Representation and Supervisory Committee.
• Nguyễn Hữu Nghĩa as Secretary of the State Audit Office’s Party Committee.

Chairman’s remarks and directions

Chairman Tran Thanh Mẫn said the appointees are experienced cadres trained across many positions, with strong political resolve, good ethical qualities, and innovative, scientific, and effective working methods. He noted that in their careers they have consistently completed outstanding tasks, producing tangible results recognized and praised by colleagues and Party members.

The Chairman urged the appointees to assume their positions immediately and work in coordination to implement comprehensively, promptly, and coherently the requirements of the Central Committee, Politburo, and the National Assembly’s Party Committee in the new situation. He highlighted the need to focus on implementing the XIV Party Congress resolution and, in the near term, the directives in Conclusion No. 18 of the Second Session of the 14th Central Committee.

Execution priorities

He asked the appointees to lead, direct, and organize work, and to quickly develop working regulations covering evaluation and planning, as well as placement and use of personnel. He also emphasized upholding political leadership and ensuring discipline and order in public service.

In addition, the Chairman called for improving the quality of professional work linked to Party building, strictly implementing instructions from General Secretary To Lâm as delivered at the National Assembly Party Congress and at the first session of the 14th National Assembly.

Focus on outcomes and modernization

Chairman Tran Thanh Mẫn stressed the importance of regularly fostering a cadre that is politically minded, ethically solid, and professionally strong. He also urged reforms in working methods, applying digital transformation and artificial intelligence, and increasing transparency and efficiency in operations.

He concluded that the ultimate measure of effectiveness is the outcomes produced by each official, and that a decision is meaningful when translated into concrete actions and tangible work products. He expressed confidence that, with high responsibility and extensive experience, the appointees will quickly assume their duties, uphold political integrity, and continue learning, thinking boldly, acting decisively, and taking responsibility—together with agency leadership—to fulfill their tasks and contribute to building a clean, strong National Assembly Party Committee, ensuring Parliament and its agencies operate with high efficiency.
