On April 21, Orient Commercial Joint Stock Bank (OCB) signed a new cooperation agreement with the Heart Understand Fund to expand surgical opportunities for children with congenital heart disease in challenging circumstances. The initiative is part of the bank’s 30th anniversary program.
Since 2023, the collaboration between OCB and the Heart Understand Fund has helped support timely surgeries for hundreds of pediatric patients, particularly in complex cases such as single-ventricle defects or the absence of a pulmonary valve—conditions that require advanced medical intervention and high costs. Many children have undergone multiple surgeries, with outcomes supported through collective efforts involving the bank and the Fund.
Under the cooperation, OCB will continue accompanying the Fund to help “heal imperfect hearts” and create additional opportunities for children in difficult circumstances across the country.
Luong Nguyen Minh Dang, Director of Retail Banking at OCB, said: “In the 30 years of development, OCB has remained firm in pursuing growth with efficiency, anchored in safe governance and a sustainable development orientation. For us, the growth of a financial institution is truly complete when it walks hand in hand with positive contributions to the community. Programs in healthcare, education, and community support have and continue to contribute lasting value to society—and that is the journey that every OCB employee is helping to build each day.”
Pham Gia Chi Bao, Chairperson and CEO of the Fund, added: “We highly value OCB’s partnership with the Heart Understand Fund. Over the past three years, with strong support from the Bank, the Fund’s resources have become a critical input, enabling life-changing outcomes for hundreds of congenital patients. I believe this partnership will extend the humanitarian mission, helping more children in difficult circumstances heal and grow up healthy.”
The article also notes that OCB has implemented other programs, including financial solutions to build or upgrade educational facilities in mountainous and remote regions and scholarships for students.
As part of its 30th anniversary, OCB is rolling out large-scale customer appreciation promotions, including the “Points to Redeem for Concert Tickets” campaign on the OCB OMNI app. The program runs through May 27, 2026. Customers can earn points through everyday banking activities—savings, payments, card spending, and insurance products—to redeem tickets for the Music Concert OSUNFEST or other gifts.
The promotion is also available at branches nationwide for individuals applying for loans or opening term deposits of six months or longer. Gifts are aligned with transaction value and program tier. The Music Concert OSUNFEST is expected to take place on June 6, 2026 in Van Phuc City, with around 30,000 attendees.
In addition, OCB Green Race 2026 is an online running event themed “Following the Sunrise” (Theo dấu Bình Minh), running from April 11 to June 9, 2026 for all participants. The event is designed to promote community spirit, and the accumulated distance will be converted into OCB contributions to the Heart Understand Fund to support new “dawns” and provide healthier lives for underprivileged children.
Premium gym chains are entering a “golden era” that is ending or already in decline, as rising operating costs collide with shifting consumer preferences toward more flexible, community-based ways to exercise. Long-term memberships are shrinking, margins are pressured by higher rents and facility expenses, and competition from smaller, more personalized…
