Performance Brokerage Services, North America’s highest volume dealership brokerage firm, announced the sale of Teton Motors Subaru & Chevrolet in Jackson, Wyoming, from David and Jim Auge to Mitch and Blake Loveland of Stone’s Auto Group.
Stone’s Auto Group, which has been in business since 1966 and was among the first dealers in Idaho, entered Wyoming for the first time through the acquisition of Teton Motors Subaru & Chevrolet.
Performance Brokerage Services said John Mecham and Jonny Mecham, the Rocky Mountain Partners of the firm, served as the exclusive sell-side advisors for the transaction.
Jonny Mecham described the process as collaborative, saying the parties “asked the right questions” and focused on how staff would be taken care of after the transaction. He added that bringing the Loveland family into the process was a “perfect fit,” and he said the buyers and sellers worked together to address issues throughout the deal.
Teton Motors Chevrolet was established in the early 1970s by Earle Auge and remained family owned and operated for 54 years. The company said David and Jim Auge led the business to build a reputation for customer and community service, and that in 2016 the group expanded by opening the Subaru dealership in Jackson, Wyoming.
Following the closing, Teton Motors Chevrolet will be renamed Stone’s Chevrolet, and Teton Motors Subaru will be renamed Stone’s Subaru. Both dealerships will remain at their current location.
David Auge, Owner of Teton Motors, said the process of finding buyers began before hiring Jonny Mecham, and he described the value of “getting over the finish line.” He also said Jonny was attentive throughout the process, including “some physical labor on closing day,” and recommended Performance Brokerage Services to others in the industry.
Performance Brokerage Services said it has advised on the sale of nearly 450 dealerships over the last five years, describing the firm as the highest volume dealership brokerage firm in North America.
The company also stated it has more than 30 years of experience, has sold more than 900 dealerships, and reports a 90% closing rate. It said it provides complimentary estimates of value with no upfront fees or retainers, no reimbursement of costs, and a paid success fee only after the transaction closes.
The firm is headquartered in Irvine, California, and said it is supported by 12 regional offices across the United States and Canada.
