Acecook Vietnam, in collaboration with local authorities, has launched a tree-planting project in Huong Lap and Huong Phung communes in Quảng Trị province, aiming to restore the forest ecosystem in the mountainous area. The initiative was introduced during a ceremony held on May 8 as part of Acecook Happiness Concert 2026.
At the event, company representatives donated 10,500 saplings to local authorities and the Association of forest-certified groups in Quảng Trị. The project will plant native tree species, including Trẩu, along with bồ kết, bồ hòn, xoan nhừ, giổi, lát hoa and huỷnh, selected to suit the ecological conditions of the western mountainous region of Quảng Trị.
The project will be carried out in three phases:
Planting native species is expected to help increase forest cover, protect water sources, reduce soil erosion, and restore natural ecosystems. The project is also intended to support carbon sequestration and maintain FSC-ES sustainable forest management standards in the region.
In addition to environmental benefits, several of the selected species are noted to have economic potential, which may help create more stable income for local residents in the future and strengthen livelihoods linked to sustainable forest protection.
