Rail sector opens passenger train ticket sales, expands services ahead of peak summer travel season 2026

From April 10, the rail sector officially opens passenger train ticket sales for the summer travel season, covering trips from May 15 to August 16. The schedule includes multiple routes and flexible fare policies aimed at meeting higher demand during the peak period.

Summer passenger timetable

On the North–South axis, the rail sector will maintain five regular services using unified train sets SE1/SE2, SE3/SE4, SE5/SE6, SE7/SE8, and SE9/SE10.

Departures from Hanoi: SE1 at 21:45; SE3 at 19:20; SE5 at 08:00; SE7 at 06:00; SE9 at 13:00.

Departures from Saigon (return direction): SE2 at 20:35; SE4 at 19:20; SE6 at 08:45; SE8 at 06:00; SE10 at 13:15.

Additional routes and services include:

• Hanoi–Vinh: NA1 departs Hanoi at 22:45, arriving Vinh at 05:35; NA2 departs Vinh at 21:30, arriving Hanoi at 05:05.
• Hanoi–Đồng Hới: QB1 departs Hanoi at 20:00, arriving Đồng Hới at 06:30; QB2 departs Đồng Hới at 14:55, arriving Hanoi at 03:55.
• Hanoi–Đà Nẵng: SE19 departs Hanoi at 19:45, arriving Đà Nẵng at 11:35; SE20 departs Đà Nẵng at 18:00, arriving Hanoi at 11:10.
• Hồ Chí Minh City–Đà Nẵng: SE21 departs Đà Nẵng at 07:55, arriving Hồ Chí Minh City at 04:35; SE22 departs Hồ Chí Minh City at 10:15, arriving Đà Nẵng at 05:40.
• Hồ Chí Minh City–Quy Nhơn: SE30 departs Hồ Chí Minh City at 18:00, arriving Quy Nhơn at 08:00; SE29 departs Quy Nhơn at 12:50, arriving Hồ Chí Minh City at 03:55.
• Hồ Chí Minh City–Nha Trang: SNT2 departs Hồ Chí Minh City at 21:45, arriving Nha Trang at 05:40; SNT1 departs Nha Trang at 20:20, arriving Hồ Chí Minh City at 05:00.
• Hồ Chí Minh City–Phan Thiết: SPT2 departs Hồ Chí Minh City at 06:45, arriving Phan Thiết at 10:42; SPT1 departs Phan Thiết at 13:30, arriving Hồ Chí Minh City at 17:46.
• Đà Nẵng–Huế: daily services with two pairs HĐ1/2 and HĐ3/4 dedicated to heritage connections.

North routes and additional services

• Hanoi–Lào Cai: 3 pairs SP3/SP4 and SP7/SP8 each day.
• Hanoi–Hải Phòng: 4 pairs Hoa Phượng Red trains HP1/2, LP5/6, LP2/3, LP7/8, with additional weekend services LP9, LP10, HD2 and extra cars as needed.
• Hanoi–Đà Lạt: regular services with pairs DL1/2, DL3/4, DL7/8, DL9/10, DL11/12, plus additional DL5/6.

Fare policies and discounts

The rail sector will apply multiple fare policies alongside the operating plan:

• Return tickets: 10% discount on the return leg.
• Route-specific return fares: on routes such as Hanoi–Lào Cai, return fares are reduced by 15%.
• Group tickets: for groups of 20 or more, discounts range from 3% to 9% depending on group size.
• Early-bird pricing: for purchases made 20 days or more before travel, discounts of 5–10% apply to certain trains and distances.
• Late purchases: tickets bought within 2 days of departure incur a 5–7% surcharge.
• Eligible passengers: regular discounts continue for people with benefits, seniors, people with disabilities, students, and children per regulations.
