Samsung Vietnam, in collaboration with the National Innovation Center (NIC), has launched Samsung Solve for Tomorrow 2026, expanding the nationwide STEM competition for secondary and high school students to foster innovation and develop technology solutions that serve the community. The event runs from April to October 2026 and this year’s Solve for Tomorrow is open to middle and high school students with two separate competition tracks, focusing on three themes: developing a sustainable environment through technology; integrating sports and technology to drive social change; and applying technology to support sustainable social development. Teams are not only expected to generate ideas but also to develop them into models that can be practically applied in their local areas. In the launch ceremony, Na Ki Hong, CEO of Samsung Vietnam, stated that the partnership with NIC is expected to create a new development for the program in terms of scale and quality, thereby spreading STEM learning culture more broadly in schools. Samsung Vietnam leadership affirmed that the contest is not only a competition to stimulate creative thinking but also a platform for student ideas to mature into technology projects with real-world value for the community and Vietnam’s future development. From NIC’s side, Vu Quoc Huy, NIC Director, emphasized that NIC’s formal participation alongside Samsung Vietnam marks a new milestone for the contest and strengthens the bridge between government, schools and business in promoting STEM education. Mr. Vu Quoc Huy also noted that in the context of the fourth industrial revolution, preparing a high-quality workforce in science, technology, engineering and mathematics is a strategic requirement; therefore, it is necessary to continue expanding scale and improving the quality of creative training programs for the youth. It is noted that Samsung Solve for Tomorrow has been implemented in Vietnam since 2019 and has become an annual innovation platform for primary and secondary students. In 2025, the program attracted nearly 7,000 students, more than 2,500 teachers participated, with 2,625 ideas submitted. This year, in addition to prizes for the winning teams, Samsung will continue to support facilities for high-performing schools, including funding a STEM Lab classroom for the first-place team worth USD 60,000, and providing the second-place school with an interactive smart board.
