Gold and jewelry company Saigon Jewelry - Gold and Silver (SJC) has issued a warning about multiple fake pages impersonating the brand to defraud customers and appropriate assets.
SJC said the perpetrators typically advertise and invite the public to register to buy gold bars through fake fan pages. The company emphasized that it does not require customers to transfer money before receiving gold, and it does not accept deposits to reserve gold. According to SJC, all transactions are conducted directly at official outlets.
SJC reported that recently, many fake fan pages impersonating the company have appeared under names such as “SJC Ho Chi Minh City” and “SJC Da Nang.” These pages illegally use the company’s images and branding, copy content from official channels, and repost information related to registering to buy gold bars or gold rings to build credibility.
The company also noted that the fake pages run ads and generate high engagement, including likes, shares, comments, and even blue verification ticks, which may mislead users. SJC added that many interactions may be fake or manufactured for the purpose of deception.
Not only SJC, other firms including Bao Tin Minh Chau and Phu Quy Group have also issued warnings about impersonation.
Bao Tin Minh Chau’s representative said fake pages with blue ticks have recently appeared, posting false information to deceive customers through online scheduling to buy gold online. The pages reportedly request personal information or ask for upfront transfers to “hold a spot.”
The firm stated that it does not sell gold bars or plain gold rings online, and it does not require upfront deposits via personal accounts.
Phu Quy Group reported that fake fan pages impersonating “Phu Quy Silver” have appeared on social media to defraud users.
The company said it currently has no promotional programs for gold or silver products, and that commemorative products have long ceased production. It also emphasized that only the single legal entity named “Cong ty CP Dau tu vang Phu Quy” is used to interact with customers, and that other entities with similar names are not part of the company.
The companies urged the public to verify information before transacting and to trade only through official channels to avoid fraud.
