In the morning session on April 24, most major trading networks kept buy and sell prices for SJC gold bars unchanged versus the previous session (April 23), even as world gold prices moved lower. The market-wide range remained at 166.7 million–169.2 million VND per tael.
As of 9:30 a.m., the buy price for SJC bullion was 166.7 million VND per tael and the sell price was 169.2 million VND per tael, unchanged from the close on April 23. The same 166.7–169.2 million VND per tael range was also quoted by major networks including DOJI, PNJ, Bao Tin Minh Chau, Bao Tin Manh Hai and Phu Quy, with no change on both buy and sell sides compared with April 23.
In the Southern region, SJC bullion prices showed mixed movement. At Mi Hồng, the selling price stayed the same while the buy price increased by 200,000 VND per tael; as of 9:30 a.m., Mi Hồng quoted 167.7 million VND per tael for the buy price and 169.2 million VND per tael for the sell price.
Ngọc Thẩm was the only brand to cut both sides in the morning session, reducing buy and sell prices by 500,000 VND per tael. Its trading range moved to 166 million–168.5 million VND per tael as of 9:30 a.m.
DOJI, Bao Tin Minh Chau and Phú Quý were the three brands listing the highest selling prices for the “4-number-9” rings in the market. None of these brands adjusted prices during the morning session of April 24, and all reported selling prices equal to their bullion prices. As of 9:30 a.m., they posted buy prices for the “4-number-9” rings at 154.5 million VND per tael and selling prices at 158.5 million VND per tael, which were also the lowest buy and sell levels among the quoted ring products.
DOJI also quoted the Tròn 9999 Hưng Thịnh Vượng ring at 166.7 million–169.2 million VND per tael (buy–sell) at market open, and as of 9:30 a.m. the price remained unchanged.
Meanwhile, Bao Tin Minh Chau and Phú Quý listed “4-number-9” ring prices at 166.2 million–169.2 million VND per tael for the morning session, with no change versus the April 23 close on either buy or sell.
On the world market, as of 10:00 a.m. on April 24, spot gold fell more than 0.5% from the prior day to about 4,670.2 USD/oz.
According to Vietcombank’s rate (taxes and fees included), the premium between bullion and world gold prices typically stands at 19.22 million VND per tael. For the “4-number-9” rings, the premium ranges between 8.52 million and 19.22 million VND per tael depending on the brand.
