On 2 April 2026, at the Grace Global Raffles building in Singapore, a strategic collaboration in stem cell technology was formally established among three entities: Cellcare Holdings Pte. Ltd., Cellresearch Corporation Pte. Ltd., and Cellcare Laboratory Sdn. Bhd. The agreement marks a new milestone in the international development of regenerative medicine.
The alliance brings together scientists, biomedical experts, and representatives from regional health organizations to connect research, technology transfer, and practical healthcare deployment. The collaboration focuses on stem cell research and technology transfer from umbilical cord membranes, with the goal of advancing scientific achievements toward real-world applications in line with regulatory frameworks in each country.
Under the agreement, the three parties will cooperate to build an ecosystem in stem cell science:
At the event, representatives from Cellcare Holdings said that for advanced medical technology to enter practical use, it requires the convergence of three factors: investment resources, research infrastructure, and execution capability. The signing was described as a first step toward connecting these elements and creating sustainable value for the community.
In research-related remarks, Mr. Ivor J Lim, Founding Director and Chief Medical Officer of CellResearch Corporation, said the organization has over 22 years of research and development experience. He noted that this has helped build a scientific foundation and dataset intended to support the development of stem cell technologies to meet stringent professional standards and comply with market regulations.
Lim added that while the organization and its collaborators have focused on research and innovation, translating research results into practical deployment requires partners capable of implementation and ecosystem development.
The collaboration is expected to accelerate the development and expansion of stem cell technology applications in key markets including Singapore, Malaysia, and Vietnam, while complying with regulatory standards in each country. The signing is also expected to help bridge research and practice and bring scientific progress closer to the community.
