The first full week of May is set to bring a heavy slate of employment-related data, alongside multiple Federal Reserve speeches. Earnings season is also continuing, with reports scheduled from a broad range of companies.
Monday, May 4: New York Fed President John Williams is scheduled to deliver a speech.
Tuesday, April 28: The U.S. trade balance is due, alongside job openings, new home sales, and the ISM services purchasing managers' index (PMI).
Wednesday, April 29: The ADP employment report is scheduled for release. Chicago Fed President Austan Goolsbee will also speak.
Thursday, April 30: Weekly jobless claims and construction spending are on the calendar, along with consumer credit data. New York Fed President John Williams will deliver remarks.
Friday, May 1: The U.S. employment report, hourly wages, and wholesale inventories are scheduled, along with preliminary consumer credit data. A panel of Fed officials is also planned, featuring Chicago Fed President Goolsbee, San Francisco Fed President Mary Daly, Fed governor Michelle Bowman, and Fed governor Christopher Waller.
A flood of earnings reports is also expected during the week, including results from Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), Affirm (AFRM), AppLovin (APP), BioNTech (BNTX), Cloudflare (NET), CVS Health (CVS), Datadog (DDOG), DraftKings (DKNG), DoorDash (DASH), Lyft (LYFT), Marriott (MAR), McDonald's (MCD), Palantir Technologies (PLTR), PayPal (PYPL), Pinterest (PINS), Pfizer (PFE), Shopify (SHOP), Super Micro Computer (SMCI), Tapestry (TPR), Tyson Foods (TSN), Uber (UBER), and Zillow Group (ZG).
