The Department of Domestic Market Management and Development has fined three fuel-distributor companies for violations of fuel reserve regulations, according to Implementing Decision No. 72/QĐ-TTTN dated March 9, 2026.
Under the decision, the Department established a task force to monitor state management and supervise traders in meeting requirements for gasoline and oil supply, storage, and circulation. The task force conducted inspections and supervision of 26 fuel-distributor traders nationwide, focusing on compliance with regulations designed to ensure supply and maintain minimum circulating fuel reserves.
During the inspections, authorities detected, verified, and drafted administrative violation records against three main traders:
The violations identified relate to the companies’ failure to maintain the mandatory fuel reserves or maintaining reserves below the minimum required level.
In addition to the cases already penalized, the Department is continuing to work with five other major traders showing signs of violations related to minimum reserves. One case shows signs of stockpiling and is being investigated and clarified for potential legal action.
The Department said strengthening inspection, monitoring, and strict handling of violations is a central measure to tighten discipline in fuel trading, supporting stable supply and national energy security.
