Vingroup’s VIC stock remained the market’s focal point as it climbed to the daily trading limit of 177,000 dong per share, setting a new historical high. The surge pushed VIC to unprecedented levels as capital continued to concentrate in large-cap stocks. Since the start of 2025 through the latest session, Pham Nhat Vuong’s shares have risen eightfold, making VIC one of the market’s strongest performers.
VIC closed at a record high, and the wealth of the Vuong couple surpassed $30 billion. According to Forbes, in this session alone, Vuong’s wealth increased by about $2.4 billion, bringing his total assets to $29.1 billion and moving him closer to the 81st position on the world’s richest list. Vuong’s wife, Pham Thu Huong, also saw a substantial increase, surpassing $3.1 billion.
In the market, VIC together with VHM nearly carried the VN-Index higher. Of the VN-Index’s 25-point gain, VIC contributed nearly 18 points, while VHM added more than 7 points. This momentum helped the index clear the psychological 1,800-point level.
Despite the index’s green tone, the session showed a “green on the outside” dynamic as decliners outpaced gainers. On HOSE, decliners nearly doubled advancers, while most stocks in the VN30 basket retreated. The pattern suggests that money flow remained concentrated in a limited number of large-cap pillars rather than spreading broadly across the market.
Some sectors that had previously led the rally faced pullback pressure. Banks, technology, retail, and steel saw declines in multiple stocks, including STB, HPG, FPT, and MWG.
At the close, the VN-Index rose by 25 points (1.41%) to 1,800.65 points. The HNX-Index increased by 0.31 points (0.12%) to 252.72 points. The UPCoM-Index gained 0.89 points (0.7%) to 128.85 points. Liquidity edged up, with HOSE trading value above 24.4 trillion dong.
Foreign investors turned back to net selling strongly, with net value exceeding 3.4 trillion dong, mainly in VHM and several other large-cap stocks.
Premium gym chains are entering a “golden era” that is ending or already in decline, as rising operating costs collide with shifting consumer preferences toward more flexible, community-based ways to exercise. Long-term memberships are shrinking, margins are pressured by higher rents and facility expenses, and competition from smaller, more personalized…
