Continuing activities within the framework of the state visit to China, on the morning of 17 April, in Nanning (Guangxi), General Secretary and President To Lâm and the high-level Vietnamese delegation visited the China–ASEAN AI Innovation Center. The China–ASEAN AI Innovation Center was established by the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in collaboration with ASEAN countries, to promote inclusive and mutually beneficial development in the field of artificial intelligence on a global scale. The center is regarded as a symbolic project in the ongoing construction of the 'Digital Silk Road' in Nanning. On 30 June 2025, the center officially entered Phase 1 operations with a total area of related items about 7.78 square kilometers, of which the building area of the center is about 19,000 square meters. The center focuses on promoting capable Chinese enterprises to tap the potential and demand of ASEAN countries and related partners, strengthening cooperation in artificial intelligence applications across sectors such as agriculture, healthcare, tourism, education, finance, and logistics, in line with the conditions and needs of each country, while emphasizing training and developing AI human resources. As of the end of 2025, there were 51 projects in China and 16 projects in ASEAN countries signed under this cooperation. The center is expected to continue expanding its network, establishing branches in several Chinese cities and ASEAN countries. On 26 November 2025, Hanoi and Guangxi signed a Memorandum of Understanding to jointly study the Vietnam–China AI application cooperation center.
