Viettel launches subscriber verification feature on My Viettel, offering 50,000 VND after CCCD update under new regulations

Recently, Viettel Telecom announced that it has introduced a subscriber verification feature on the My Viettel app. Users can log in, prepare their citizen identification (CCCD), select the "Subscriber information verification" utility, and follow the instructions. The rollout comes after Circular 08 issued by the Ministry of Science and Technology, which took effect on April 15. The regulation requires telecom operators to verify subscriber information based on documents used for registration by organizations or individuals. After deployment, subscribers who do not comply with the rule may have their services suspended. Under the new rules, all mobile numbers must verify four data fields: personal identification number, full name, date of birth, and biometric facial image; and these data must match the National Population Database maintained by the Ministry of Public Security. There are four accepted verification methods: online via VNeID; via the carrier's app; at the carrier's service location; and at a location authorized by the carrier. Currently, when operating through the carrier's app, users can open the app, then perform the following steps: Step 1: Open the My Viettel app and log in with the mobile number to be updated to the new CCCD. Step 2: Select \"Change documents\" or type \"Change documents\" into the search box on My Viettel. Step 3: Take photos of the CCCD and portrait photo. Step 4: Check the information and compare with the CCCD. Step 5: Scan the chip on the CCCD. Step 6: View contract information and sign electronically. Step 7: The system will send an OTP to the phone; enter the OTP to confirm. Step 8: Notification of successful document update. After a successful update, users will receive 50,000 VND free from Viettel. Specifically, for prepaid customers, users will receive 25,000 VND for on-network SMS and on-network voice, and 25,000 VND for data, valid for 15 days. For postpaid customers, the incentive will be offset up to 50,000 VND from the monthly charges for on-network voice and on-network SMS outside the promotional package in the month. Note: To receive the incentive, the subscription must online-verify information on My Viettel before the blocking date (as specified in the message) and the incentive is credited on day N+1 (N being the day of successful verification). Each customer is eligible for only one reward.
