On March 31, 2026, Vingroup announced an extension of its emergency support program for customers switching to electric vehicles through April 30, 2026. The company said the move is intended to continue easing supply and fuel price pressures for consumers and reflects its social responsibility amid ongoing conflict in the Middle East, which it said continues to affect users of transportation powered by fossil fuels.
Vingroup extended its “Gasoline-to-Electric” trade-in program in four key markets: Vietnam, India, Indonesia, and the Philippines. It also announced a 10% subsidy on travel costs using GSM services in Vietnam and Indonesia, and Laos.
Under the program, customers switching from gasoline cars to VinFast electric vehicles in Vietnam, India, Indonesia, and the Philippines will receive an additional 3% discount on car prices and 5% on motorcycle prices. The company said these discounts are stacked with other incentives currently being offered.
For customers choosing to travel using Green SM electric vehicles in Vietnam, and Green SM in Indonesia and Laos, fares for all trips will be discounted by 10%.
Vingroup attributed continued demand for its green ecosystem to rising gasoline prices alongside the incentives. It highlighted that on March 28, 2026, VinFast reached a record of 3,520 electric car orders per day, equivalent to 2.4 fully completed electric cars per day leaving the factory within one minute.
The company described the result as an unprecedented milestone, underscoring VinFast’s manufacturing, business, and operating capabilities, and indicating an ongoing shift toward electric vehicles in Vietnam and globally.
