Australia's Anti-Dumping Commission (ADC) has initiated an anti-dumping investigation into galvanized steel products imported from Vietnam and Korea. The Vietnamese companies named in the investigation are Hoa Sen Group (HOSE: HSG) and Nam Kim Steel (HOSE: NKG). The case was brought by BlueScope Steel Australia, which alleges that Vietnamese and Korean exporters sold galvanized steel in the Australian market at prices below normal value, causing material injury to domestic producers. The products under review are HS codes 7210.49.00, 7212.30.00, 7225.92.00, and 7226.99.00. The investigation period runs from January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2025. Preliminary findings in Australia indicate that the estimated dumping margin for Vietnamese firms could reach as high as 56.21%. The ADC expects to complete the investigation and deliver a final report to the Ministers of Industry and Innovation and Science by October 2, 2026. In light of these developments, the Australian Trade Remedies Authority advises affected firms to cooperate fully with the investigation, prepare dossiers and supporting data, and formulate countervailing strategies to mitigate the risk of imposing high anti-dumping duties.
