BIDV has operated an electronic transaction communication system with securities firms through the clearing platform of the Vietnam Securities Depository (VSDC) since March 13, 2026. The VSDC clearing system is designed to automate the exchange of transactions between the custodian bank and securities firms.
According to BIDV, the solution helps increase processing speed, improve accuracy, and enhance transparency in balance confirmations. It also supports notifications to customers regarding their trade results.
After completing the connection, BIDV said it became the first domestic custodian bank to deploy this system. In the initial deployment phase, BIDV’s system processed more than 3,000 electronic communications.
A BIDV representative said the results reflect cooperation among the bank, regulators, and securities firms, covering business analysis, solution development, and actual deployment. The representative added that the implementation ensured compliance with technical standards and aligned with the overall development direction of Vietnam’s securities market.
BIDV currently provides services to about 90% of fund management companies and more than 55% of investment funds in the market. The bank estimated assets under custody (AUC) at over 868 trillion dong.
BIDV said it will continue investing in technology, maintain operating capacity, and strengthen its position in the domestic custodian banking segment.
