Bitcoin price started a fresh surge and cleared the $74,200 zone. BTC is consolidating and could target additional gains above the $75,500 level.
Bitcoin found support near $71,200 and began a new increase. The move gained momentum above the $72,500 and $73,200 resistance levels.
Buyers pushed the price above the $75,000 level, forming a high at $76,088. The price is now consolidating after a minor dip below the 23.6% Fib retracement level of the advance from the $70,518 swing low to the $76,088 high.
BTC is trading above $74,200 and the 100 hourly simple moving average. A declining channel is also forming, with resistance at $75,200 on the hourly chart for the BTC/USD pair.
If the price holds steady above $74,000, it may attempt another rise. Immediate resistance is near $74,800, followed by key resistance at $75,200.
A close above $75,200 could drive the price higher, potentially testing $76,000. Further gains may extend toward $77,500, with the next upside barrier at $78,000.
If Bitcoin fails to break above the $75,200 resistance zone, it could start another decline. Immediate support is near $73,950, with the first major support at $73,300.
Additional support is around the $72,650 area, corresponding to the 50% Fib retracement level of the move from the $70,518 swing low to the $76,088 high. Losses could then push the price toward the $72,000 support level in the near term.
The main support is at $71,850, below which BTC may struggle to recover in the near term.
