According to the Dong Nai Province Project Management Board for Construction (the Board), the Bien Hoa central trunk road segment from Vo Thi Sau Street to Dang Van Tron Street spans more than 5.4 km and consists of two main branches. Branch 1 is about 3.7 km long and includes the construction of the Thong Nhat Bridge and the Vam Ong An Bridge, with a cross‑section width of 60 to 95 meters; Branch 2 is over 1.7 km long with a cross‑section of 47 meters. The total investment for the project is over 1,506 billion VND. To date, the project has completed nearly 96% of the contract value, land clearance is complete, the packages are entering the finishing stage, and are ready to open to traffic in the near future. The Chairman of the Dong Nai People’s Committee, Nguyen Van Ut, assessed that the Bien Hoa central trunk road project is being implemented by contractors quite well. However, progress needs to be accelerated to complete the project soon. Meanwhile, the Component 1 project of the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway through the province has a length of 16 km. In phase 1, the expressway is constructed to a 4-lane standard with a design speed of 100 km/h. The project has two civil works packages under construction, with the executed value to date reaching 78% of the signed contract value. In inspecting the Component 1 project of the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway, the Chairman Nguyen Van Ut assessed that the current progress does not meet the requirements. The province sets a target to complete and open to traffic by the end of April. Therefore, the provincial People’s Committee assigned the investor unit, the Project Management Board for Construction Investment, to work with the contractors. The head of the provincial government requires contractors who perform well to continue receiving support, while those performing poorly must have contracts terminated and another unit brought in to assist. It is not acceptable to allow the progress to remain sluggish. The Chairman also tasked the Project Management Board to review the progress of contractors on the Component 1 project, Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway, and to take concrete action against any units that do not meet requirements.
