MediFind, a data-powered online provider directory, announced that it has received the DiMe Seal, developed by the Digital Medicine Society (DiMe), an independent nonprofit focused on advancing the safe and effective use of digital health. MediFind said it is the first doctor directory to be awarded the seal.
DiMe evaluates digital health platforms using core principles including clinical evidence, privacy and security, and usability. The DiMe seal is intended to help individuals make informed choices and identify digital health tools that meet a higher standard of trust.
Finding the right doctor—whether for a rare disease or a more common condition—can be overwhelming, particularly as consumers navigate many online options. MediFind said the DiMe seal is relevant because consumers often struggle to determine where to begin and which resources they can trust when making healthcare decisions.
MediFind also stated that it uses advanced analytics to provide data-driven, evidence-based information, with the goal of making provider searches more efficient and impactful.
David Linetsky, President of Phreesia Network Solutions, said: “We’re honored to receive the DiMe Seal as a testament to the trustworthiness of MediFind. This is a meaningful milestone in our commitment to make it easier for people to find care.”
The announcement highlights ongoing challenges in online health information, including difficulty evaluating which sources are trustworthy and variability in accuracy and transparency. DiMe said frameworks like the DiMe Seal help simplify this process by highlighting platforms that meet higher standards for transparency and reliability.
The credibility of a doctor directory is described as especially important for people with serious, chronic, and rare diseases, who may need guidance in identifying the right specialist. The article also notes that specialists familiar with the latest research and developments related to a patient’s rare disease can help connect patients to treatment plans that support better outcomes.
