Data from CocCoc’s Q1/2026 search-trend report indicates that global geopolitical events and domestic political developments are significantly influencing how Internet users in Vietnam search for information. In January 2026, nationwide attention shifted toward the XIV National Congress of the Communist Party, with related search terms rising sharply.
Keywords tied to the political calendar surged during the month. Searches for “parliamentary election” increased by 209%, while “14th Party Congress” rose by 66%. Instructional queries also expanded rapidly: “how to check election results” jumped 2,996%, suggesting users were actively seeking guidance on procedures and how to exercise voting rights.
New policy announcements also became immediate search focal points. “Circular 152” rose 1,609%, and “state Tet bonus 400k” increased 1,019%. The report frames these movements as evidence of fast access to information and high public interest as new regulations take effect.
Domestic current affairs were among the most searched topics on CocCoc in Q1/2026. Searches related to adjustments to personal income tax under Resolution 110/2025/UBTVQH15 showed notable growth, including “personal allowance 2026” up 439% and “personal income tax 2026” up 569%.
The report also highlights international developments shaping search behavior. US-Iran tensions were linked to gasoline price fluctuations, with “gas price today” rising 1,901%. Exchange-rate-related searches also increased, with “US dollar” up 232% and “Korean won” up 56%.
Artificial intelligence topics attracted substantial interest as well. Searches for “AI” rose 130%, while “OpenClaw” increased by 103%, extending attention beyond the more familiar “ChatGPT.”
Entertainment-related searches also gained traction, including shows such as “Single Inferno 5” and “Battle of Fates,” along with performances by artists including BTS, Hoa Minzy, and Phung Khanh Linh.
Beyond politics, policy, and international developments, the report notes evolving search trends across other categories including people, sports, media, and travel.
