GG Power's Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) complex, located in Industrial Zone No. 5, Xuan Truc, marks a milestone in GG Power's clean energy development. The complex covers 1.2 hectares and comprises a two-story production workshop and an R&D center, with a design capacity of 5 GWh per year. A GG Power representative said the BESS plant investment is methodical and professional, aligned with international standards. The automation rate exceeds 90%, enabling quality control at every production stage. Under this process, each dispatched product must meet safety, performance, and reliability standards, ready to serve domestic and regional markets with speed and scale. Guided by its strategy, BESS focuses on delivering comprehensive energy storage systems for all market segments: residential products aimed at households; industrial and commercial (C&I) solutions; and utility-scale project pipelines. With on-site production capability, GG Power can secure supply, shorten delivery times, and optimize solutions tailored to the operating characteristics of each customer group domestically. The BESS technology platform is transferred from Goldwind, a leading global provider of clean energy, storage, and wind power solutions, present in more than 30 countries with a portfolio of large-scale projects in the United States, Australia, Brazil, Chile, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Specifically, GG Power receives technology transfer under a licensing model to fully own the research and development (R&D) process. Goldwind also commits to long-term technical support, training of a team of engineers, and ongoing updates to operating and maintenance technology. On this platform, the company continues to collaborate with partners to develop and optimize the Energy Management System EMS – the brain of the BESS. According to the company, EMS is highly compatible with Vietnam's grid characteristics, ensuring full operational autonomy, while building a secure, domestically stored big data platform. Through strategic cooperation with Goldwind, we gain direct access to global technology standards, gradually enhancing our R&D capabilities, mastering the system, and proactively developing the domestic supply chain. This lays the foundation for GG Power to participate more deeply in regional and international energy value chains, the representative said. During the event, company leaders signed strategic cooperation agreements with technology partners, international customers, and distributors to develop a nationwide network, aiming to maintain consistent technical standards from factory floor to end user. The Hung Yen plant was established to capitalize on the global BESS market's surge, with an expected compound annual growth rate of 28.3% by 2030 according to Grand View Research, as energy storage becomes an essential component of modern grids. In Vietnam, facing grid variability and overload, much of the market still relies on imported equipment. Guidelines in Directive No. 10/CT-TTg of the Prime Minister and the VIII Power Plan set a critical path for developing distributed energy resources and installing BESS to relieve peak-hour strain. GG Power expects domesticization efforts to help shift from a consumer economy to a technology-owning one, ensuring energy security and deeper integration into the global green value chain. The adjusted Power Plan VIII projects Vietnam will need about 10-16 GW of BESS in the near term. At the event, Mr. Bui Xuan Binh, Chairman and General Director of GG Power, said: GG Power does not aim to merely manufacture equipment but to master core technology—from the control system to integrated solutions. We invest heavily in R&D, develop internal standards, build the factory, and establish international partnerships. This path is not easy; it requires time and resources and resolve, but it is a necessary direction to form a new domestic energy industry. With BESS, Vietnam can become a center for energy storage in Asia in the future. In the next phase, the company plans to further expand ancillary facilities to enhance production capacity and complete the supply chain.

Premium gym chains are entering a “golden era” that is ending or already in decline, as rising operating costs collide with shifting consumer preferences toward more flexible, community-based ways to exercise. Long-term memberships are shrinking, margins are pressured by higher rents and facility expenses, and competition from smaller, more personalized…
