GG Power has officially launched a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) plant at the Hung Yen 5th Industrial Park in Xuan Truc, Hung Yen, with an initial investment of 300 billion VND. The facility covers 1.2 hectares and includes a modern two-story production workshop and an R&D center, designed to reach a capacity of 5 GWh per year. The plant is intended to provide energy storage solutions for residential use, industrial and commercial (C&I) segments, and utility-scale projects.
GG Power licensed BESS technology from Goldwind to support its R&D process. The company said the approach helps optimize the energy management system (EMS), with high compatibility with the Vietnamese grid, while also ensuring secure local data storage.
At the launch event, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hoang Long said Vietnam’s renewable energy market must develop energy storage systems. He praised the “bold spirit” of Vietnamese enterprises and pledged Ministry support to help domestic firms develop green, clean energy and build a “Made in Vietnam” energy ecosystem.
Vice Chairman Le Quang Hoa of Hung Yen Province said the project aligns with the province’s development orientation through 2030 and a vision through 2045 to become an industrial, high-tech province.
During the event, GG Power signed strategic cooperation agreements with supporting technology partners, international customers, and distributors to develop a nationwide network.
GG Power’s entry into BESS production positions the company in a market projected to expand rapidly. Grand View Research projects the global BESS market will grow at a 28.3% CAGR by 2030, driven by the increasing need for energy storage as a core component of modern power grids.
In Vietnam, demand for energy storage is described as urgent to manage renewable energy variability and reduce grid overload. The article notes that much of the market still depends on imported equipment. It also cites directives including Directive 10/CT-TTg and Power Planning VIII, which outline a roadmap for distributed energy development and BESS deployment to reduce peak loads. Adjusted Power Plan VIII estimates Vietnam will need about 10–16 GW of BESS in the coming period.
GG Power said its localization efforts are intended to support a shift from a consuming economy to a technology-owning economy, strengthening energy security and deeper integration into the global green value chain.
Chairman and CEO Bui Xuan Binh said the company aims not only to manufacture equipment but to master core technologies, including control systems and integrated solutions. He stated that GG Power is investing in R&D, developing internal standards, building the plant, and forming international partnerships, adding that the company views BESS as an opportunity for Vietnam to become an energy storage hub in Asia.
Under the company’s plan, GG Power will invest an additional 300 billion VND in Phase 2 to expand a supporting plant, increase production capacity, and strengthen the supply chain.
Premium gym chains are entering a “golden era” that is ending or already in decline, as rising operating costs collide with shifting consumer preferences toward more flexible, community-based ways to exercise. Long-term memberships are shrinking, margins are pressured by higher rents and facility expenses, and competition from smaller, more personalized…
