On May 13, 2026, the Vietnam Association for Economic Science and Vietnam Economy Magazine – Vietnam Economic Times held a ceremony to announce and honor outstanding foreign-invested enterprises (FDI) for the 2025–2026 period, awarding the Golden Dragon Award 2026 (the 25th edition).
Speaking at the event, Mr. Đào Quang Bính, Secretary General of the Vietnam Association for Economic Science and Vice Chairman of the Editorial Board of Vietnam Economy Magazine, said the Golden Dragon initiative was launched in 2001 by Vietnam Economic Times in cooperation with the Foreign Investment Department.
Mr. Đào Quang Bính noted that the award carries symbolic value aimed at encouraging leading FDI enterprises and supporting the creation and consolidation of an effective, increasingly large FDI enterprise community operating in Vietnam.
He said the award’s value also lies in the media exposure it provides to participating enterprises, along with broader social impact—helping raise awareness of the activities, achievements, and efforts of the FDI enterprise community in Vietnam.
Over more than 25 years, Vietnam Economic Times, VnEconomy, and Vietnam Economic Times have surveyed and honored hundreds of FDI brands in Vietnam. Many brands have participated for multiple years, and some have been recognized nearly as many times as the program has been running, reflecting the award’s prestige and the expectations of FDI enterprises to submit more positive and outstanding entries in subsequent years.
The organizing unit also highlighted that, beyond the award itself, the program has continuously pursued activities to foster connections and exchanges among domestic and foreign enterprise communities, policy-makers, and administrators from central to local levels. In later stages, the exchange expanded to include dialogue and policy-practice linkages, as well as program activities, delivering additional value for the FDI enterprise community in Vietnam.
Mr. Đào Quang Bính described the 25-year implementation of the community program as a long journey marked by sustained efforts from the organizing unit and collaborating agencies.
He added that the next phase of the Golden Dragon program will be a new journey with updated approaches, stating that the mission to serve and accompany the Golden Dragon program with the business community will be strengthened through new methods and new approaches.
