On April 13, 2026, Green and Smart Mobility Joint Stock Company (GSM) announced the rebranding of Xanh SM to Green SM, aligning the brand across international markets and setting out a plan for global expansion. Alongside the name change, Green SM launched a new app version and expanded its Platform model to international markets.
The rebranding from Xanh SM to Green SM is intended to unify the brand identity across GSM’s system, creating a more seamless and familiar experience for users as they travel in different countries. The move also marks a milestone three years since GSM began operations.
GSM also introduced significant product and service upgrades, including a completely new version of the Green SM app. The update features a modern, minimalist interface and an optimized user experience designed for cross-country usability wherever GSM operates. The app integrates AI technology, supports journey personalization, and provides real-time data updates.
In Vietnam, Green SM officially launched a four-digit call center number, 1555, replacing the former 1900 2088. GSM said the change is intended to make it easier for users to request rides through traditional calling channels. The company also continues to support customers by hailing rides on the street.
GSM expanded its platform economy model to the first two international markets: Indonesia and the Philippines. The program is designed to create opportunities for individuals and local businesses that own VinFast electric cars to join the ecosystem, operate under common standards, and earn stable income.
GSM said that, building on its experience in Vietnam, the Green SM Platform helps reduce entry barriers and optimize operating costs for drivers and partners, supporting a faster transition to electric vehicles and greener urban mobility.
Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, Global CEO of GSM, said: “Green SM always aims to set a unified standard for the brand across all markets, expanding access to high-quality services for all customers, overcoming geographic limits through technology and excellent service experiences. That is also the foundation for us to continue developing the ecosystem, expanding cooperation opportunities and accelerating the green transition in all the countries where we operate.”
After three years of operation, Green SM said it has become the largest all-electric transport platform in Southeast Asia, operating in four countries: Vietnam, Laos, Indonesia, and the Philippines. The company reported more than 186,000 electric cars and motorcycles in operation.
Over three years, Green SM said its ecosystem completed 620 million rides, covering a total green travel distance of 4.2 billion km. GSM also stated that the service contributed to reducing 580 thousand tons of CO2, equivalent to the absorbent capacity of 27 million trees per year.
Green SM said it provides stable jobs for hundreds of thousands of drivers and partners with nearly 100 transport companies and 11 bus operators to support an environmentally friendly operating model.
The company also highlighted its Green Alliance Frontier initiative, which it said has attracted more than 400 corporate partners across multiple sectors, building an ecosystem intended to support expansion to more markets.
Based on these developments, Green SM said it is gradually driving a system-wide shift in the transport sector, aiming to set sustainable mobility standards in modern cities across multiple countries.
