Green and Smart Mobility GSM Joint Stock Company renamed its electric taxi brand Xanh SM to Green SM, aligning its brand identity globally on April 13. The rebranding helps GSM align Green SM with international markets, aiming to accelerate global expansion. On this occasion, Green SM also launched a new version of its app and announced expanding the Platform model to markets outside Vietnam. The company explains that rebranding helps users have a seamless, familiar experience when moving across multiple countries. This move is part of a broader strategy to expand the green mobility ecosystem worldwide, marking GSM's three-year milestone in operation. With the new Green SM app, the company enhances user experience through AI integration, supports journey personalization, and real-time data updates. In Vietnam, GSM operates a four-digit call center (1555) replacing the old number, and users can also hail a Green SM taxi on the street. The Platform model in Vietnam will be expanded to Indonesia and the Philippines, offering opportunities for individuals and local businesses owning VinFast cars to participate in the ecosystem, creating additional income from the shared-economy model. The Green SM Platform has proven effective in Vietnam, reducing barriers to entry into the system and optimizing operating costs for drivers and partners. This is also a factor driving the transition to electrification and greener urban mobility. Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, Global CEO of GSM, said Green SM aims to set uniform brand standards across all markets, expanding access to high-quality services for users through technology and service experience. 'This is the foundation for us to continue developing the ecosystem, expanding cooperation and promoting the green transition in many countries,' he said. Green SM electric taxis use 100% VinFast electric vehicles. After three years of operation, Green SM is one of the leading all-electric mobility platforms in Southeast Asia, present in Vietnam, Laos, Indonesia and the Philippines. The company reports operating over 186,000 cars and electric motorcycles, over 620 million rides, total distance traveled about 4.2 billion km, contributing to a reduction of 580,000 tons of CO2, equivalent to the absorption capacity of 27 million trees per year. Additionally, the platform is reportedly creating jobs for hundreds of thousands of drivers, partnering with nearly 100 transport companies and 11 bus operators in the transition to an eco-friendly model. The Green Alliance Frontier initiative, spearheaded by GSM, has attracted more than 400 corporate partners across various sectors to participate.
