On April 20, the Hue Department of Construction issued a directive banning trucks with a load capacity of 3.5 tons or more from circulating in the central area and inner city during peak hours. The measure was implemented following a conclusion by Hoang Hai Minh, Standing Vice Chairman of the Hue City People’s Committee, at a citywide traffic-management meeting.
Trucks weighing 3.5 tons or more will be prohibited from the central area and inner city, covering the two old districts Phu Xuan and Thuan Hoa, during the morning peak hours from 6:00 to 8:00 and the afternoon peak hours from 16:30 to 18:30 daily.

During the restriction period, trucks must follow an alternate belt route: National Highway 1 - Thuy Duong overpass - Provincial Road 28 - Provincial Road 10A - Cho Dinh Bridge - Nguyen Gia Thieu - Tang Bat Ho - National Highway 1 (Lê Duẩn road segment) and vice versa.
The Hue Department of Construction said signage installation would be completed before April 29. The regulation takes effect from 0:00 on April 30.
