The Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX) said the derivative market in March 2026 traded actively with liquidity rising sharply, with the average daily volume of VN30 index futures reaching 303,269 contracts, up 33.08% from the previous month. The average daily trading value fell 22% to VND 56.396 trillion. The session on March 10, 2026 recorded the highest trading volume of 404,043 contracts. Open interest (OI) on March 31, 2026 stood at 37,185 contracts, up 16.33% from the previous month. The March 10 session posted the highest OI in the month, at 46,672 contracts. VN100 futures averaged 129 contracts per session, up 39.41% from the previous month, with average trading value of VND 22.95 billion, up 30.9%. End-March 2026 VN100 open interest was 67 contracts. Notably, the government bond futures maturing in 5 years and 10 years had no trades; end-of-month open interest was 0 contracts. Regarding investor trading structure, proprietary trading by securities firms decreased from 2.05% in February 2026 to 1.64% of total market trading in March 2026. Foreign investor trading rose from the previous month, with the share of foreign traders in VN30 and VN100 futures accounting for 4.13% of total market turnover versus 4.1% in February 2026.
