Nio Strategic Metals Inc. (TSXV: NIO) (OTC Pink: NIOCF) has appointed Bruno Dumais as President and Chief Operating Officer and Jean-Sébastien Blanchette as Chief Financial Officer, expanding its executive leadership team as it advances its niobium exploration projects in Quebec.
Bruno Dumais, previously Chief Financial Officer of Nio, has more than 30 years of senior management experience, including strategic development and execution roles at various local and international publicly traded organizations. The company said his background includes creating new opportunities while managing risks and uncertainties, with a focus on advancing Nio’s niobium exploration projects.
Jean-Sébastien Blanchette joins Nio with more than 25 years of experience in finance and natural resources. After graduating from Yale University, he worked on Wall Street as a senior financial analyst and portfolio manager for various financial institutions, managing multi-hundred-million-dollar market neutral strategies in the energy and mining sectors.
Hubert Marleau, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Nio, said Dumais will help promote the company’s projects with local stakeholders, governmental agencies and partners. Marleau added that Blanchette’s experience is expected to strengthen partnerships, develop strategic alliances, and expand Nio’s international sales presence.
Marleau also stated that, following a recent funding round, Nio is positioned to demonstrate the potential benefits of its strategic niobium asset for local stakeholders and for Canadian infrastructure, defence and aeronautical industries.
The Board of Directors also announced the grant of 4,000,000 stock options to directors and officers under the company’s stock option incentive plan. The options have an exercise price of $0.27 per share and a five-year term. The grant is subject to the terms and conditions of Nio’s stock option plan and the policies of the TSX Venture Exchange.
