The Tax Department (Ministry of Finance) electronic information portal recently posted information about 18 individuals who are household business owners, directors, or legal representatives of enterprises who are subject to a suspension of exit due to tax debt. Among them, one person holds Chinese citizenship. The notice does not specify the tax debt amount for individuals or organizations. The list of taxpayers notified of exit suspension includes: Decree 49/2025/NĐ-CP dated February 28, 2025 provides details on the suspension of exit, applied based on the level of tax debt and the duration of overdue payment, specifically: - Individuals engaged in business and household businesses with tax debt of 50 million VND or more and tax debt overdue beyond 120 days. - Individuals who are the legal representatives of enterprises, cooperatives, or unions of cooperatives with tax debt of 500 million VND or more and tax debt overdue beyond 120 days. - Individuals engaged in business, household business owners, or individuals who are the legal representatives of enterprises or cooperatives that no longer operate at the registered address, with tax debt overdue beyond the specified period and after 30 days from notification by tax authorities about the application of exit suspension but have not fulfilled the tax obligations. Decree 49 also provides that if the taxpayer has fulfilled tax obligations, the tax authority shall issue an immediate cancellation notice of exit suspension to the exit/entry management authority. The exit/entry management authority shall cancel the exit suspension within 24 hours of receiving the tax authority's notice.
