During an on-site inspection of key project sites, Hanoi Party Secretary Tran Duc Thang set required completion timelines for each component and for the overall projects. He urged project owners and construction units to concentrate manpower and equipment to accelerate progress and complete the works on schedule.
On the afternoon of April 18, Secretary Tran Duc Thang, together with his delegation, visited several major projects in Hanoi, including the Ring Road 1 project (Hoang Cau–Voi Phuc segment), the western drainage system improvement project (Yen Nghia pumping station and La Khe canal), the DT4 drainage project from the Tay Ho Tay urban area to Hoang Quoc Viet road, and the Yen Nghia 1 lake project (An Khanh commune).
At the Ring Road 1 project site, Secretary Thang described the road as the “backbone of the capital.” He said that any daily delay would mean residents face longer periods of congestion, pollution, and travel time. He therefore called on construction units to speed up progress and said the city would increase inspections.
Secretary Thang also emphasized that if any unit fails to meet requirements, lacks capacity, or makes slow progress, Hanoi would decisively consider reallocating responsibilities.
The city’s targets for the segment include completing the entire roadbed and two overpasses by September 2, 2026, and finishing the overpasses by December 31, 2026.
Regarding the DT4 drainage project from DT4 road in Tay Ho Tay to Hoang Quoc Viet road, Secretary Thang said the drainage line is important for Tay Ho Tay and nearby areas. He required the investor and contractor to accelerate work, with the drainage channel to be completed by April 30 and the sidewalk to be finished by May 15.
At the La Khe canal construction site, Secretary Tran Duc Thang urged Ha Dong ward and the project management board to clearly report the current pollution situation and any illegal direct discharges into the canal. Based on that assessment, he requested a comprehensive plan to address the issue.
He also set deadlines for the canal packages: completion by April 30 to ensure stable drainage to Yen Nghia pumping station, and landscaping work to be completed by June 30.
