Citizens in Vietnam can now open stock trading accounts directly through the Ministry of Public Security’s VNeID app, alongside administrative and banking transactions. The move is positioned as a new step in using national population data to simplify financial procedures for individuals.
VCBS, a securities company of Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade, pioneered the integration of this solution. Under the process, citizens who have completed Level-2 electronic identification can connect their information to open a securities account directly on the VNeID platform.
Compared with traditional methods, users do not need to complete manual registration steps or visit transaction points to finalize paperwork. With a smartphone that has the VNeID app installed, the account-opening process is described as faster and more convenient.
