During the four-day holiday from 30/04 to 03/05, authorities processed more than 53,800 traffic violations, with alcohol-related offenses accounting for more than 11,400 cases.
According to a report from the Traffic Police Department (Ministry of Public Security), during the four-day holiday nationwide there were 177 traffic accidents, resulting in 95 deaths and 114 injuries. Compared with the same period in 2025, the number of incidents decreased by 72, deaths fell by 35, and injuries declined by 65.
Road traffic accidents accounted for nearly all incidents, with 176 cases. These accidents caused 94 deaths and 114 injuries, down 71 cases, 35 deaths, and 41 injuries compared with the same period.
Rail recorded 1 incident, with 1 death; the number of incidents was unchanged, while deaths increased by 1. Water transportation recorded no accidents, down 1 incident, with 1 fewer death and 3 fewer injuries than last year.
In penalties enforcement, local traffic police detected 53,833 violations and processed 53,916. As a result, 277 cars, 13,033 motorcycles, and 1,048 other vehicles were impounded. Authorities also suspended 1,479 driving licenses and reduced license points by 7,951.

Among violations, alcohol offenses remained a large share with 11,411 cases. The next most common was speeding with 13,390 cases.
Other recorded categories included 184 cases of overloading, 48 cases of over-size, 11 cases of vehicle modifications, 391 cases of carrying more people than allowed, and 24 cases of picking up or dropping off passengers in violation.
Additional violations included 395 cases of using a mobile phone while driving, 1 case of not installing or malfunctioning monitoring devices, and 21 cases related to drugs.
On highways, patrol forces checked and found 1,649 violations, issuing 275 notices. They suspended 3 licenses, deducted 120 points, impounded 3 vehicles, and issued 1,400 notices.
In other areas, waterways recorded 799 violations with 3 vehicles impounded. Rail detected and processed 366 violations, also with 3 vehicles impounded.
The holiday period showed fewer crashes than last year, but violations—particularly alcohol and speeding—continued to represent a significant share of the total enforcement actions.
