Chaired by Le Hong Vinh, Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial People’s Committee, an inspection was conducted into the progress of boarding school projects in Huong Phung, Dakrong, and Dan Hoa.
In Huong Phung commune, the Boarding School for Primary and Secondary Education has a total investment of 360 billion VND, covers about 13 hectares, and serves 1,560 students. Construction began in November 2025 and is expected to be completed by the end of July 2026. As of now, the actual completed value is about 35% of the contract quantity.
In Dakrong commune, the Boarding School for Primary and Secondary Education has a total investment of more than 220.9 billion VND, covers 6.46 hectares, and serves 1,021 students. The project also started in November 2025 and is expected to be completed by the end of July 2026. The current value of work performed is about 30% of the contract.
The provincial leadership urged faster progress on the Dakrong project and directed the investor and construction units to mobilize resources, reduce difficulties, and implement the plan in a concrete and detailed manner, with clear responsibilities assigned to each unit.
For the Dan Hoa project in Dan Hoa commune, about 85% of earthworks and internal roads have been completed.
The project has a total investment of 285 billion VND, a land-use area of about 9.67 hectares, and serves about 910 students, with a projection to 1,485 students by 2030. Of 20 functional blocks, 10 blocks are at foundation stage, 4 blocks are at first-floor structure stage, and 6 blocks have not started. Auxiliary works have not yet been implemented.
The project’s progress has been affected by labor shortages, unfavorable weather, inadequate electrical infrastructure for construction, rising material transport costs, and limited local labor near the border area.
In response, the Provincial Project Management Board for Investment and Construction requested contractors to strengthen labor, organize overtime shifts, and ask relevant agencies to promptly publish construction material prices so contract unit prices can be adjusted accordingly.
During the Dan Hoa project, leveling and internal traffic work have reached about 85% of the volume.
Chairman Le Hong Vinh also emphasized ensuring safety and quality, mobilizing maximum labor and equipment, and organizing work scientifically. Local authorities were asked to participate in supervision and ensure security around the construction site. Relevant units were directed to review designs and implementation plans to reflect real conditions and clearly define responsibilities.
Beyond schedule concerns, the Chairman stressed attention to project quality, maintenance after commissioning, and planning for traffic organization, parking, and safe access for teachers and students once the project becomes operational.
