Sacombank shares (STB) drew unexpected investor attention on May 12, 2026, rising toward the upper trading limit and reaching a new all-time high shortly after the bank announced senior management appointments. At the close on May 12, STB traded at 76,800 VND per share, up 6.37% from the previous session, with more than 6.9 million shares changing hands on matched orders. The move set a new peak price and lifted Sacombank’s market capitalization to about 144.784 trillion VND.
The rally followed Sacombank’s announcement appointing Mr. Luu Danh Duc and Mr. Nguyen Hoang Hai as Deputy General Directors.
STB’s upward momentum also lifted LPB, another bank stock linked to Bu Thuy, where Mr. Nguyen Duc Thuy serves as Vice Chairman of Sacombank’s Board. The session also marked the highest price level for LPB, taking its market capitalization to about 162.806 trillion VND.
The gains in STB and LPB came amid sharp fluctuations across the broader market on May 12. After a sharp decline in the prior session, the VN-Index opened lower as investor sentiment remained cautious. However, buying demand increased toward the end of the session, helping major indices turn positive.
