More than a year after the start of Phase 3, the My Thuy interchange project has accelerated, but many components remain incomplete as contractors continue to adjust the schedule.
In response to slower-than-expected progress, the city revised the project timeline. Instead of the original completion target of April 30, 2026, the schedule was adjusted to the third quarter of 2026.
The My Thuy interchange project began in 2016 and is designed to connect major traffic corridors, including Nguyen Thi Dinh Street, Dong Van Cong Street, and Beltway 2 (Vo Chi Cong). The area handles a high volume of container traffic to Cat Lai Port, where congestion is often prolonged—particularly near Phu My Bridge.
Under the approved plan, the project has total investment of more than 3,600 billion VND. It is structured as a four-level interchange with two main components: construction and compensation, and site clearance and resettlement. The work is divided into three phases, with Phases 1 and 2 completing many key items between 2019 and 2021.
Among the completed and operational works are the Ky Ha 3 Bridge (left branch), the overpass on Beltway 2 (left branch), and the left-turn tunnel from Beltway 2 to Cat Lai and My Thuy 3 Bridge (six lanes). These items have contributed to partial improvement of traffic conditions in the area.
Phase 3—the final phase—officially started on 14 March 2025, with a goal to complete within one year. However, by mid-April 2026, the construction site still had many items under construction.
At the overpass on Beltway 2 (right branch), the main structure is gradually taking shape. Contractors are organizing continuous work with multiple fronts to accelerate progress ahead of the rainy season.
Overpass No. 2, which has nearly 10 piers stretching from the Cat Lai ferry to Phu My Bridge, has appeared on site and is ready to move into the girder construction phase.
In parallel, the belt road system comprising Routes 1, 2 and 3 has shown clear progress:
Another key component, Ky Ha 4 Bridge, has also begun, supporting the overall completion of the four-level interchange as designed.
Contractors are mobilizing maximum manpower and equipment, but the project still faces risks of delays. Many areas remain incomplete and not fully synchronized.
According to the plan, Phase 3 construction is required to minimize disruption to residents’ travel. With a large volume of work still remaining, pressure to maintain progress while ensuring quality remains significant.
When completed, the My Thuy interchange is expected to reduce traffic pressure near Cat Lai Port and improve connectivity to East Ho Chi Minh City, contributing to the broader East gateway transport network.

Premium gym chains are entering a “golden era” that is ending or already in decline, as rising operating costs collide with shifting consumer preferences toward more flexible, community-based ways to exercise. Long-term memberships are shrinking, margins are pressured by higher rents and facility expenses, and competition from smaller, more personalized…
