On the morning of April 14, the leadership of Dong Nai Province’s Department of Construction said the department has finalized the schedule to dismantle two toll stations on National Highway 51 in the section passing through Tam Phuoc Ward (T1 at Km 10+778) and Long Phuoc Commune (T2 at Km 28+450). The dismantling is expected to take place over one week, from April 18 to April 24, to restore the road surface and ensure traffic safety on the route.
The two toll stations, T1 and T2, on National Highway 51 will be dismantled from April 18 to April 24.
According to the Department of Construction, the implementation is based on laws and decisions of the Dong Nai People’s Committee on traffic management in the area. The move is intended to improve transport infrastructure, ensure traffic order and safety, and align with the direction to regulate traffic flow on the vital corridor connecting Đồng Nai with Ho Chi Minh City.
During the dismantling period, traffic through the area of the two toll stations will be affected. The roadway at some locations will be narrowed to facilitate construction, potentially causing localized congestion, especially during peak hours. Vehicles passing through the area may need to move slowly, which could extend travel times.
To minimize disruption, the Department of Construction advises residents and transport operators to monitor traffic conditions and consider alternate routes. Drivers are asked to follow directions from authorities and temporary traffic signs and signals in the construction zone.
The department also requested media outlets to widely disseminate information to the public so organizations and individuals can stay informed, adjust travel plans, and help ensure smooth and safe traffic during the dismantling.
Provincial leaders have tasked the provincial police, Tam Phuoc Ward’s authorities, and Long Phuoc Commune’s authorities to direct forces to assist with traffic management and security during the dismantling. The Department of Construction, together with Road Management Area IV and BVEC, will oversee dismantling, recovery, and storage of materials recovered during and after the process.
One day earlier, the Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee approved the proposal from the Department of Construction to dismantle Toll Stations T1 and T2 on National Highway 51 in Đồng Nai. The dismantling is scheduled for April 2026.
The Department of Construction noted that in 2025, National Highway 51 was handed over to Đồng Nai provincial authorities for management, including the two toll stations that had not yet been dismantled, even though toll collection had ceased since January 13, 2023.
Toll Booths T1 and T2 no longer function for toll collection but still exist with structures such as the toll house, traffic islands, foundations, signs, and ancillary works. The department said these non-operational facilities can cause traffic conflicts, obstruct visibility, narrow the current roadway, and pose a high risk of traffic accidents.
Under the plan, BVEC will hand over the entire current state of the two toll stations to Road Management Area IV and the Đồng Nai Department of Construction by April 15, 2026.
