Vosco, the Vietnam Maritime Transport Joint Stock Company (Vosco, ticker: VOS), has approved the plan to invest in a project to build two MR-class product tanker ships. Under the plan, the company will build two 50,000 DWT MR-class ships, of the PRODUCT OIL/CHEMICAL TANKER type, double-hulled, meeting EEDI Phase III standards and capable of transporting chemicals such as caustic soda. The two ships are planned to be built in South Korea, with deliveries scheduled for the end of June and the end of August 2028, respectively. Vosco said the maximum price for each ship is USD 52 million, excluding costs arising from reception, registration, supervision of the new builds, as well as taxes, fees, and interest during the construction period. The company plans to borrow about VND 1,026 billion, equivalent to 75% of the investment value, for seven years; equity participation is about VND 352 billion. The two ships to be formed in the future will be used as collateral for the loan. Currently Vosco operates four oil tankers with capacity of 47,000–50,000 DWT, including Dai Phu, Dai Quang, Dai Vinh, and Dai Thanh, in addition to the dry cargo and container fleet. On April 2, HOSE said it had received Vosco's notice about cancelling the list of shareholders registered to attend the 2026 annual general meeting (record date February 27) due to incomplete meeting documents. Regarding business results, in 2025 Vosco posted revenue of VND 3,103 billion, down 44% year-on-year; pre-tax profit reached VND 381 billion, down 9% but still above the plan by 1.3%.
