On May 11, Hà Thị Nam reported to local police that she had mistakenly transferred 15 million đồng to an unknown account at Vietcombank.
According to the report, on March 29 Hà Thị Nam (born 1983, resident of Thống Nhất village, Nông Cống commune) made the transfer but inadvertently sent 15 million đồng to an account belonging to an unintended recipient.
After more than a month of trying to contact the recipient without success, Nam went to the police on May 11.
The Nông Cống Commune Police coordinated with VietinBank’s Nông Cống branch to verify the transferred funds. After reviewing the transaction, authorities identified the beneficiary account holder as Trần Thanh Thảo (born 1986, currently residing in Chư Sê commune, Gia Lai).
To ensure accuracy and build trust between the parties, the police contacted the local authorities in Gia Lai (Công an xã Chư Sê) to verify information and urge Thảo to return the money.
Under the guidance and confirmation of the authorities, Thảo transferred back the full 15 million đồng to Nam.
After the funds were recovered, Nam sent a letter of thanks to the officers of Nông Cống police for their prompt intervention and support in resolving the case.
