The Zero-Knowledge proof network Boundless, originally developed by RISC Zero, has announced its official integration with the XRP Ledger (XRPL). The company said the move brings native zero-knowledge (ZK) proof verification to the Layer 1 blockchain for the first time in its history.
Boundless’ integration is positioned as a way for institutions to build financial applications that can run private transactions while maintaining regulatory compliance. The announcement frames the partnership as enabling confidential transaction execution without removing the ability to meet compliance requirements.
The integration is also described as resolving a key issue for XRPL: public transparency that can reveal treasury strategies and trade flows. With scalable confidential computing, entities such as SBI Holdings and Archax are expected to conduct KYC/KYT screening and compliance processes privately.
The announcement says this approach reduces competitive risk and operational friction, while supporting expansion across Ripple’s ecosystem, including stablecoin payments and institutional decentralized finance (DeFi) with data sovereignty.
Boundless is presented as changing XRPL’s infrastructure toward a “privacy-first” architecture. The next step cited for the ecosystem is the deployment of Real-World Asset (RWA) solutions and institutional settlements that use the new cryptographic guarantees.
